About Dr. Forester
WHO IS SHE?
DaLene Forester, PhD has been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Redding California since 1993 and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor since 2013. She obtained her Masters in Psychology from Chico State and her PhD in Psychology from California Southern University. DaLene maintains a full time private practice with an emphasis on the treatment of Eating Disorders as a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, Anxiety Disorders, and has a special passion for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as a Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress. DaLene has worked as the Clinical Director of a non-profit counseling center and founded the Advanced Education Institute where she provides clinical trainings to Mental Health professionals in EMDR, TF-CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Clinical Supervision, Clinical Treatment of Eating Disorders, and much more.
DaLene is a CAMFT Certified Supervisor and an active member of the Redding Regional Chapter of CAMFT having received the “Outstanding Chapter Leader” award twice. She has served on the Chapter Board of Directors numerous times. DaLene is an EMDR International Association EMDR Certified Therapist, Approved Consultant, and Trainer. She is an active member of the EMDR International Association having served on the Standards and Training committee, is a current Regional Coordinator, and is a member of the National Organization of EMDR Trainers. DaLene is currently Secretary Elect on the EMDRIA Board of Directors. DaLene is an Adjunct Professor at National University. DaLene is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and a Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress, Diplomate with the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. DaLene is trained by Dr. Daniel Amen in Brain SPECT Imaging interpretation and treatment.
DaLene is a clinical member of the American Psychological Association (APA), American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT), California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association (EMDRIA), National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA), and the Academy for Eating Disorders (AED). DaLene is actively involved with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as a previous Oral Examiner and a current Continuing Education Provider. DaLene has presented papers at AAMFT, Western Psychological Association (WPA) and has two chapters published in EMDR Solutions II, R Shapiro (ed.), W.W. Norton & Company, 2009.

EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a complex approach to psychotherapy for the treatment of trauma and trauma related disorders. Clinical Supervision
This course is designed to satisfy the BBS requirement that all MFT's, LCSW's and LPCC's who supervise trainees and interns complete each licensing cycle, or within 60 days of commencing supervision.
Eating Disorder Treatment
This training is designed to take a clinician from discomfort in the treatment of eating disorders to competence in the treatment of eating disorders (Anorexia, Bulimia, and Binge Eating Disorder). Learn to identify eating disorder behaviors and treat the underlying complex issues with confidence.
